The internet describes 2020 as “subversive”, “hellacious” (yup, it’s a word, look it up), and “extreme”. If you’re like me, then you’ve probably lost language for this year’s events. There’s an uncanny dichotomy within me unwilling to label this year as the most divisive, confusing, and catastrophic periods of time, refusing to undermine the sting of our present grief, yet also knowing the world has withstood equally, if not subjectively greater, struggles in past times….
