Big Sky Country A Great Substitute As Canadian Border Remains Limted

In a recent post, I shared our discovery and a newfound love of ice fishing. And now? My boys want more.

Just for fun, I took a look to see if there were any fly-in ice-fishing excursions out there… or if that was even a thing. After all, we’re new to the sport. Sure enough, there are plenty. And given this pandemic continues to alter our lives, where even our traditions aren’t immune, I figured, we need to keep living and my boys need to feel like the world is still there’s.

When we out the northern border would remain limited, and our favorite resort closed, we were more than concerned about what would happen to a longstanding tradition in our family. Every September, we plan a trip to Oxford Lake in Manitoba, Canada to take on the mosquitos while searching for our monster walleye. And anyone who has ever taken a trip like this knows it’s really about so much more than catching a trophy fish. But of course, this tradition has fallen to the pandemic, too… at least for now. We weren’t about to let this ritual fall victim to this pesky pandemic and were delighted to find…
