Spring Birding Season Is Here

Sandhill Crane. McCown’s Longspur. Sprague’s Pipit.

If you think these are the newest, must-have trendy paint colors for your next home project, then this pandemic has you either doing too much DIY or watching too much DIY.

The pandemic is annoying. Heck, it’s downright infuriating. I can’t go get my favorite drink, the Cedar Sour, from the only person on the planet that knows how to make it the right way because she can’t open her restaurant. I can’t go check out summer league hockey at the Civic Center because the league is still trying to figure out how to skate with masks on and hockey pucks are known carriers of Coronavirus. I can’t even go to the movie theater to see if there is finally a new release that isn’t unwatchable enough to force me out the door before my popcorn is gone. You might say… “it’s for the birds.” Okay, I couldn’t resist. That’s one of those jokes that never gets old for birding enthusiasts. But I digress. Get off your backside and go to the nearest park. Sit down and look up. It is a shame not to cast your eyes to nature to see what we’ve been missing for so long now.
